Description
2012 Lea Turner Vineyard Pinot Noir
This is the 7th vintage of the Lea Turner Vineyard Pinot, and every vintage to date has delivered. Each year we wonder at the intensity of the small berries and tiny clusters that come from this naturally low-yielding Sta. Rita Hills vineyard. This year’s Turner is reminiscent of the classic 2007 vintage. Both vintages gave us moderate temperatures that allowed for slow ripening and very little rainfall that led to great extraction. This Turner is powerful and fruit-driven yet nicely balanced by snappy acidity and dusty earthiness. Look for deep notes of blueberry, blackberry and spice as well as fresh hints of rose petals and cherries. Drink this wine now or age it over the next seven years.
