Description
2013 Lea Mormann Vineyard Pinot Noir
Located in the well-respected Sta. Rita Hills appellation, Mormann is one of the sandiest vineyards we have ever worked with. While that may not sound ideal for growing, sandy soils are great for grape vines. The poor water retention and excellent drainage lead to smaller berries, fewer clusters and more intense grapes that produce more intense wine. This year’s Mormann is bright, fresh and driven by mouth-watering notes of red plums, cherries, ripe raspberries, and pomegranate. The finish is long and silky with hints of spice and minerals. Drink this wine now or age it over the next eight years.
