2014 Syrah “Noir” (92-94 Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate; 93-95 Vinous)

Always one of our highest-scoring wines, past vintages of this very special wine, which started out as the “Anniversary Series,” have brought scores of 98, 99, 95, 96 and 96 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. Releasing our “Noir” Syrah is always exciting for us, but this particular vintage may be our most exciting to date, Now that we own Colson Canyon Vineyard, the 2014 Noir a 100% estate wine. Made up of 80% Colson Canyon Vineyard Syrah and 20% Tensley Estate Vineyard Syrah, this wine is sourced exclusively from Tensley-owned properties. Joey made this Noir by picking the very best barrels of 2014 Colson Canyon Syrah and 2014 Tensley Vineyard Syrah. He then blended the barrels and aged the wine for sixteen months in 80% new French oak and 20% neutral French oak. The 2014 Noir is extracted and powerful. It shows bold notes of dark stone fruits, blackberries, black cherries and chocolate complemented by hints of white and black pepper, graphite, leather and earth. A solid tannic structure promises true age ability. This wine can be enjoyed now or aged up to 15 years.
