Description

We have been making Thompson since the very first vintage of Tensley back in 1998. It is a special site, with sandy loam soils and own rooted Estrella clone. It is always the most feminine and perfumed of the syrahs we make. People tend to believe it will not age as well as the more powerful syrahs, but it does. Its beautiful acidity and middle palate gives the wine lift and energy. Every year the aromas jump out of the glass with strawberry and boysenberry, and when you really get in there, you will find chocolate, coffee, sage and other herbs. We love this vineyard and wine for our shared history and its consistent delivery of impressive product in the glass.
