2011 Lea Chardonnay

This is only the second vintage of Chardonnay Jennifer has ever made. Since she was so pleased with last year’s wine, she decided to follow the same winemaking program going forward. Her goal was to make a wine that would be somewhere between a lush, buttery Chardonnay aged in new oak and a lean, crisp Chardonnay done in stainless steel. The solution? A Chardonnay made in neutral French oak barrels The resulting wine shows brightness, freshness and crisp minerality as well as a lush mouthfeel and long finish with a touch of vanilla and butter. Look for notes of white peaches and nectarines as well as a hint of citrus. Enjoy this wine now or age it over the next five years.
