2014 Colson Canyon Syrah (91-93+ Vinous; 93-95 Wine Advocate)

2014 was our second drought year in a row, which meant lower yields, smaller berries and incredibly intense fruit. This 2014 Colson is one of the most intense Syrah’s we have produced to date. This wine shows an extraordinary concentration of blackberries and black stone fruit, white pepper and chocolate. This Syrah sees 20% new oak and also shows hints of vanilla on the finish. The mouthfeel is lush and round and the finish is long and lingering. Drink this wine now or age it up to 12 years
