Description
2012 Noir Syrah (formerly the Anniversary Series)
Joey made this year’s Noir exactly as he made the last five vintages. He started by choosing the very best fermenter of 2012 Colson Canyon grapes then made the wine exactly like our other Syrahs, with the exception that it was aged in 100% new French oak (rather than our usual neutral or 20% new oak) for 16 months (rather than our usual ten) . The result is a lush, intense wine brimming with notes of dark stone fruits, raspberries and blackberries with hints pepper, violets, dark chocolate and smoked meats. The new oak lends toasted notes of vanilla to the long and complex finish. This wine is beautifully balanced with a solid tannic structure that attests to its age ability. This Noir can be enjoyed now or aged up to 15 years.
