2013 Tierra Alta Vineyard Syrah

Our section of this Ballard Canyon vineyard is planted on a steep, windy slope ideal for growing Syrah. Year after year Tierra Alta delivers a solid wine that is structured with subtle tannins and an appealing, floral nose. Because of the dryness of this vintage, this year’s Tierra Alta is particularly extracted with deep, dark notes of cherries, licorice, and leather. This wine is very approachable in its youth but will also age well over the next 8 or 9 years.
