This vineyard always delivers a fascinating wine that is indicative of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation in which it grows. Sta. Rita Hills is the coolest climate in our Santa Barbara County appellation and, for Syrah, cool climate equals pepper. The nose of this wine bursts with aromas of black and white pepper that are equally expressive in the mouth. Smoke, red and black fruits, spice, and leather round out this vintage that shows an elegant, silky texture and long finish. Drink this wine now or age it up to ten years.
