2016 Colson Canyon Grenache Rosé
That’s right! Rosé has returned to the Tensley line-up. This time under the Tensley label and this time from our very own Colson Canyon Vineyard. Like the Lea Rosé that came before it, the grapes for this wine were farmed specifically to be made into a vineyard-designated Rosé. This Rosé is 100 percent Grenache. The grapes were picked early in order to retain an acidity that would nicely balance the fruit. The juice remained in contact with the skins for six hours then was pressed to neutral oak barrels where it aged for four months. The resulting wine is bright and fresh with a floral nose and lively notes of guava, watermelon, strawberry, and citrus. Only three barrels of this debut Rosé were made so it won’t last long. You can enjoy this Rosé right away or age it over the next couple of years.
