2019 Thompson Vineyard Syrah (95 points, Jeb Dunnuck)
This vineyard is very near and dear to us, as it is the vineyard the brand was launched with in 1998. The Thompson Vineyard is among the most respected vineyards in Santa Barbara County. Established in 1990, Thompson’s windy conditions, cool nights, and great drainage make for low yields and intense fruit. This wine consistently shows bright notes of dark berries, red plums and minerals. It’s an earthy, full-bodied Syrah that shows delightful tannic structure. Approachable now, this wine always ages beautifully, and can easily go for 12 years.
