2019 Turner Syrah (96 points, Jeb Dunnuck)

This vineyard always delivers a fascinating wine that is indicative of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation in which it grows. From the very first time we harvested this vineyard back in 2005 this fruit has impressed us with its freshness and finesse. Sta. Rita Hills is the coolest climate in our Santa Barbara County appellation, and, for Syrah, cool climate equals pepper. The nose of this wine bursts with aromas of black and white pepper that are equally expressive in the mouth. Look for notes of smoke and bright red fruits as well as an elegant, silky texture and long finish. Drink this wine now or age it up to ten years.
