2021 P2KV Alisos Canyon Vineyard Syrah

Tensley comes full circle. In 1998 my first vintage of Tensley I made three barrels of Alisos Canyon Syrah and 1 barrel of Thompson Vineyard. There wasn’t a lot of Syrah planted at the time so I was lucky to access these Syrah vineyards. I only made Alisos Canyon Syrah one time. I don’t recall exactly why but that is how it played out. So when I started this project I asked a friend who gets all of the Syrah from Alisos Canyon and if I could get 1 measly ton to bring Tensley back to where it all started. So today is the release of a very rare bottling. I wish I could access this Syrah forever but after tasting the wine I see why it will not be available anytime soon. I’m grateful for the one shot. I had a bottle last night and was thinking about how Tensley wines has changed my life. Here we are 25 years later; back to where it all began…
