2017 Tensley Estate Vineyard Syrah (93 Wine Spectator; 92-94 Wine Advocate; 91-93 Jeb Dunnuck)

This is the fifth vintage to be harvested from our Tensley estate vineyard. This two-acre parcel is planted directly behind our house and carefully tended to by our grower and by us. Our son, Oliver, actually planted the very first vine in 2011 and even harvested the first cluster three years later. The vineyard has great sun exposure, sandy soil and a gentle slope that provides great drainage for the vines. 2016 was our first year out of drought. Look for fresh notes of cherries and red plums and a finish that shows fine and dusty tannins. Drink this wine now or age it over the next 12 years.
