The 2025 Colson Canyon Syrah beautifully captures everything we love about this vineyard—power, concentration, and unmistakable blue and purple fruit balanced by a deeply savory character. Ripe blueberries, blackberries, and black cherries lead the way, layered with violets and lavender, cracked pepper, wild herbs, and hints of smoked meat. As the wine opens, darker notes of anise, graphite, crushed rock, and dried black olive emerge, giving the wine an earthy, mineral complexity beneath all that generous fruit. The palate is powerful and concentrated, yet remarkably balanced, with structured tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, savory finish. Colson Canyon has always been a Syrah that is incredibly appealing in its youth, when the fruit is abundant and the texture is rich, but it has the structure and depth to evolve beautifully for 20 years or more.
